IBG
Hosts Teleconference on Biometrics
and Privacy
New
York, NY—August 11, 2003—International Biometric
Group (IBG) announces the seventeenth installment of its
Biometric Business and Technology Teleconference series.
This month, IBG's teleconference will address the
important topic of "Biometrics and Privacy."
Effectively
addressing privacy concerns is critical to the long-term
growth and acceptance of biometric technology. Despite
the increased use of biometrics in the public and
private sectors, biometrics are seen as being
potentially invasive of personal privacy and
informational privacy. The challenge is to define the
types of privacy risks that biometrics can pose and to
develop and implement best practices to limit
biometrics' impact on privacy.
In
order to better accommodate our international audience,
IBG will be conducting two separate teleconferences on
Thursday, August 14:
- Kush
Wadhwa, Director of European Operations at IBG, will
host a call at 1:00pm UK time (2:00pm Europe time,
8:00am ET)
- Tony
Moore, Senior Consultant at IBG, will host another
call at 1:00pm ET (10:00am PT)
You
can listen to the teleconferences over the web by
following the link at:

If
you wish to participate in the question and answer
session for either call, you can join the call by
dialing 877-780-2276 (from the U.S. or Canada) or
973-582-2757 (outside the U.S. or Canada).
The
IBG Biometric Business and Technology Teleconference
series is designed to address the increasingly broad
audiences interested in biometrics, including investors,
developers and the media. Toward that end, the IBG
Biometric Business and Technology Teleconference series
provides timely information and insight on the current
state of biometrics and the biometric industry.
