International Biometric Group To Host Teleconference on Biometrics in Retail Applications

New York, NY—March 9, 2004—International Biometric Group (IBG) announces the twenty-fourth installment of its Biometric Business and Technology Teleconference series. Trevor Prout, Director of Marketing for IBG, will be leading a discussion about the use of biometrics in consumer-facing retail applications, such as paying for purchases or cashing checks.

The teleconference will examine some of the current and planned retail deployments (such as those at BI-LO, Kroeger and Piggly Wiggly supermarkets), discuss the vendors currently operating in this space, and analyze the prospects for widespread integration of biometrics into retail applications. IBG's new "Biometrics Market and Industry Report 2004-2008" projects that biometrics revenue from retail, ATM, and point-of-sale applications is poised for dramatic growth over the next five years, from $16.1 million in 2003 to $243.5 in 2008.

The call will take place on Thursday, March 11 at 1:00 pm ET (10:00 am PT). There is no charge to join the call, which will last up to an hour, and participants will have the opportunity to ask questions.

You will be able listen to the teleconference over the web:

You can also join the call by dialing: 888-896-0863 (from the U.S. and Canada) or 973-582-2703 (from outside the U.S. and Canada). If you wish to participate in the question and answer session during the teleconference, you will need to dial into the call.

The IBG Biometric Business and Technology Teleconference series is designed to address all audiences interested in biometrics, including investors, developers and the media. Toward that end, the IBG Biometric Business and Technology Teleconference series provides timely information and insight on the current state of biometrics and the biometric industry.
