IBG Publishes Study on
Performance of Vein, Iris Recognition Systems
Comparative Biometric
Testing Round 6 results detail usability and accuracy of
biometric systems
International Biometric Group
(IBG) today announced that results from Round 6 of its
Comparative Biometric Testing are available at
www.biometricgroup.com/cbt.html.
IBG's Comparative Biometric
Testing is the leading full-system performance testing
program in the biometric industry. CBT evaluates the
accuracy and usability of end-to-end biometric systems,
including sensors, software, and algorithms.
CBT is compliant with U.S. and
international biometric performance testing standards.
Systems integrators, government agencies, and high-tech
firms use CBT results to make decisions on technology
deployments, partnerships, and investments.
IBG tested the following
biometric systems in CBT Round 6:
• Fujitsu PalmSecure (palm vein
recognition)
• Hitachi UB READER (finger vein recognition)
• IrisGuard H100 (iris recognition)
These cutting-edge technologies
are widely used in access control, consumer ID, and
border management programs.
IBG collected approximately
70,000 samples, and performed nearly 120,000,000
comparisons, in generating CBT Round 6 results. Results
show that systems tested in CBT Round 6 generally
excelled in terms of enrollment rates, transaction
times, and accuracy.
