Biometrics in Driver's License Operations

Introduction

Most U.S. states are investigating the use of biometric technologies to reduce fraud and improve efficiency in driver's license and ID card (DL/ID) issuance operations. Dozens of critical issues - from core technology performance to implementation costs to privacy impact - must be evaluated prior to deployment.
