Iris Recognition Applications

Iris recognition technology is primarily deployed in high-security physical access implementations, although Iridian - the technology's sole developer - is dedicated to moving the technology to the desktop. The most prominent deployments of iris recognition technology have been pilot programs at ATMs in England, Japan, and the U.S.; corrections applications in the U.S. to identify inmates; and employee and passenger authentication at airports in the U.S., U.K., The Netherlands and Germany.
