Spoof 2007

Spoof 2007 is the industry's first comprehensive test of fingerprint and iris recognition systems’ resistance to spoofing.

Test Overview

IBG will create a Spoof Library, a collection of spoofs for fingerprint and iris recognition systems, and conduct spoof trials at the enrollment and authentication levels. A range of spoofing metrics, such as Spoof Detection Rate and Non-Response Rate, will be used to analyze systems’ resistance to spoofing as well as the effectiveness of spoofs across multiple systems. Analysis will include factors beyond liveness detection and matching that affect spoofing, known as Anti-Spoof Design Factors and Spoof Practicality Factors.

Spoof 2007 and the Financial Technology Services Consortium

Spoof 2007 is being conducted by IBG in conjunction with the Financial Services Technology Consortium (FSTC). The FSTC (www.fstc.org) is a consortium of leading North American-based financial institutions, technology vendors, independent research organizations, and government agencies, whose goal is to bring forward, test, prove, and validate the next generation of critical financial services technologies and determine how they can be applied industry wide. Members of the FSTC include JPMorganChase, Wells Fargo, Citibank, Bank of America, Wachovia, Fidelty, CapitalOne, and American Express.

Spoof 2007 Benefits

Spoof 2007 will provide government agencies and commercial organizations with objective information on fingerprint and iris recognition systems’ vulnerabilities to spoofing, which will help guide deployment decisions.

Spoof 2007 will provide vendors with detailed performance data and third-party validation, which will help identify areas for improvement in spoof resistance and liveness detection technologies.
